I still have a Webster Wire Recorder which I had fun with back in the 1940's
and believe it or not.....it still works. After Dear Helen left me without much
to do, I was playing around with it and came across these old recordings of
mostly Helen singing. It sounds like I had used a voice harmonizer in some
laces and. I'm playing the guitar and singing along sometimes. I hear the
voices of some old family friends who aren't around anymore, and I can hear
baby Barney sometimes trying to get into the act. We never considered Helen
a singer. But I'm really enjoying these little songs and the memories they bring
back ...Can you imagine ...all this on a little spool of wire from over seventy-five
years ago? ... To play a song, just click on the triangle.
New Moon...Smile...Don't know title...Go Home
Goodnight Irene .....Jingle Bells
Daddy of Mine......Beautiful Dreamer
Sounds like baby Barney is trying to get into the act.
Wild Irish Rose......Glow Little Glow Worm.......
SWANEE RIVER like you've never heard it before.
HANG DOWN YOUR HEAD TOM DOOLEY
I don't think Helen is singing this one with us.
She probably thought it way beneath her.
